The St. Kitts and Nevis Robotics Association (SKNRA) is beaming with pride as we celebrate one of our own, Brandon Powell, owner of BugHunt Inc., for being recognized as Innovative Business of the Year during Global Entrepreneurship Week.
This achievement is not just a testament to the success of iFare, BugHunt’s first software solution, but also a remarkable story of perseverance, determination, and innovation.
Brandon’s journey began with a simple yet powerful idea—an idea that was nurtured and supported within the SKNRA community. BugHunt Inc. was born as a part-time project in late 2022, during long hours after Brandon’s day job. Nights turned into early mornings as Brandon worked tirelessly to bring his vision to life.
The journey wasn’t without challenges. From countless sleepless nights to moments of doubt, Brandon’s unwavering belief in his vision and the support of his advisor, Dr. Ricardo Neil, helped him push through. As Brandon recalls, Dr. Neil’s words, “Steer the path and see it through,” became his guiding light during the toughest times.
In March 2024, the hard work paid off with the launch of iFare—a platform that began with one vessel operator and has now expanded its reach, reshaping how ferry services operate in St. Kitts and Nevis.
Last evening, Brandon’s dedication and innovation were celebrated on one of the biggest stages during Global Entrepreneurship Week. BugHunt Inc. has grown beyond its humble beginnings, now offering IT infrastructure services, technical support, program development, and more to local, regional, and international clients.
For Brandon, this award is more than just recognition; it’s a symbol of resilience and a reminder that innovation can thrive in St. Kitts and Nevis. His journey exemplifies what’s possible when determination meets opportunity.
At SKNRA, our mission has always been to empower and support innovators like Brandon. Seeing BugHunt Inc. grow from an idea within our community to an award-winning business is a testament to the talent and potential of our members.
Brandon’s success story reinforces our belief that St. Kitts and Nevis has the resources, talent, and creativity to compete on the global stage.
Brandon’s journey is an inspiration for aspiring entrepreneurs across the nation. It shows that with hard work, determination, and the right support network, extraordinary achievements are possible.
To Brandon, congratulations on this well-deserved recognition! The SKNRA family is incredibly proud of you, and we are excited to see what the future holds for BugHunt Inc.
As Brandon himself said, “Here’s to staying the path and seeing it through.” The St. Kitts and Nevis Robotics Association couldn’t agree more. Together, let’s continue building a brighter, tech-driven future for our nation.
If you’re inspired by Brandon’s journey, we encourage you to explore how the SKNRA can support your ideas. Innovation starts with a dream, and with the right support, anything is possible.
