The St Kitts and Nevis Robotics Association (SKNRA) is thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of our annual Robomindset Summer Camp. Held under the inspiring theme, “Nurturing Innovative and Adaptive Thinking through Robotics,” this year’s camp, sponsored by the Republic Bank in St Kitts, was a standout event that left a lasting impact on all who participated.
Our 2024 Robomindset Summer Camp spanned three weeks and was hosted simultaneously in St Kitts and Nevis. This approach allowed us to reach a broader audience and provided more opportunities for local students to engage with robotics and coding. With over 21 instructors and assistant instructors—the largest team since the camp’s inception in 2023—the camp offered an unparalleled level of personal attention and support.
What truly set this camp apart was the involvement of trainers who will be representing St Kitts and Nevis at the FIRST Global Robotics Olympics in Athens, Greece, later this year. Their participation not only enhanced the quality of the training but also brought a sense of international prestige and excitement to the camp.
The Robomindset Summer Camp attracted over 60 participants from across the Caribbean and even the United States. This diverse mix of attendees created a rich, multicultural learning environment, fostering valuable exchanges and broadening perspectives. The students engaged in hands-on activities, interactive workshops, and real-world challenges, which were instrumental in deepening their understanding of robotics.
The camp culminated in an exceptional closing ceremony, where we celebrated the accomplishments of our participants. Awards were presented to top performers, and all attendees were recognized for their hard work and dedication. This event highlighted the skills and knowledge gained over the camp and underscored our commitment to encouraging and acknowledging young talent.
Dr. Ricardo Neil, Founder and Chairman of SKNRA, emphasized that the Robomindset Summer Camp is a key component of our commitment to national development. By nurturing innovative and adaptive thinking, we are preparing our youth to tackle future challenges with confidence and creativity.
The success of this year’s camp has set a high standard and paves the way for future initiatives. We are excited about continuing our mission to promote STEM education and foster a passion for robotics among young learners. We extend our deepest gratitude to our sponsor, Republic Bank, and to all the volunteers and instructors whose dedication made this event possible.
