SKNRA Japan Expo 2025

SKNRA & SKIP Unit Showcase Cutting Edge Caribbean Innovation at Expo 2025 Osaka

Basseterre, St Kitts & Nevis – 16 April 2025 — The St Kitts & Nevis Robotics Association (SKNRA) today announced its partnership with the St Kitts Investment Promotion (SKIP) Unit to spearhead the Federation’s presence at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, the six month World Expo opening 13 April 2025 on Yumeshima Island, Konohana ku, Osaka.

SKNRA has dispatched its first two official representatives—Ms. Patrina Perreira and Ms. Sherifah Maynard—who will serve as cultural technology envoys for SKNRA, SKIP Unit, and the wider Federation throughout the Expo’s run. Their mandate is to champion the islands’ burgeoning tech sector, forge international partnerships, and spotlight home grown talent on a global stage.
 

Caribbean tech on the world platform

 
Visitors entering the St Kitts & Nevis pavilion will be greeted by a suite of breakthrough innovations developed in house by SKNRA engineers:
 
  1. 1. 5 ft “Immigration Bot” – a humanoid concierge that stamps commemorative “passports” for guests entering the booth.
  2. PHV 2 – an expandable, modular educational robot designed to scale from primary coding lessons to advanced AI experimentation.
  3. Humanoid Research Robot – SKNRA’s ongoing platform for studying biomechanics and next generation prosthetics.
  4. Virtual Heritage Experience – immersive VR software offering interactive tours of Brimstone Hill Fortress, the Circus, Charlestown’s heritage core, and other iconic sites across the Federation.
“Credit belongs to our brilliant volunteer engineers who conceived, prototyped, and tested these systems in record time,” stated H.E. Dr Ricardo R. Neil, SKNRA Founder and Chairman. “Their work shows the world that small islands can deliver world class robotics and immersive reality solutions.”

Expo 2025 carries the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” encouraging nations to present technologies that make life safer, smarter, and more connected.
 
SKNRA’s exhibit underscores the Caribbean’s commitment to leveraging robotics and AI for inclusive economic growth, heritage preservation, and improved public services such as border control.

Founded in 2020, the St Kitts & Nevis Robotics Association is a non profit organization dedicated to advancing robotics, AI, and STEAM education across the Eastern Caribbean. The Association runs annual summer camps, teacher training programs, and international research collaborations.
