The SKNRA RoboMindset Summer Camp 2023 focused on inspiring youth through Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). With the theme “Clean Tech for Clean Water,” the camp aimed to address global water and sanitation challenges using robotics and technology. Over four weeks, participants aged 13 to 18 engaged in diverse activities including robotics workshops, Scratch coding sessions, team projects, guest lectures, and a social media challenge.
The camp’s primary objectives were to immerse participants in robotics and technology, enhance problem-solving skills, foster creativity, and encourage teamwork. The curriculum was designed to provide hands-on learning experiences, encouraging participants to apply their knowledge to real-world problems.
The camp attracted over 150 participants, exceeding the initial projection of 110. It succeeded in raising interest in STEAM subjects, improving technical skills, boosting confidence, and fostering effective teamwork. The thematic focus on clean water technology allowed participants to innovate and think creatively about sustainable solutions.
Feedback from participants and parents was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the camp’s influence on academic interests and personal growth. Recommendations for future camps include diversifying age groups, increasing the budget for resources, fostering local partnerships, and expanding the thematic scope to maintain relevance and appeal.
The RoboMindset Summer Camp 2023 was a transformative educational platform that ignited passion, honed skills, and instilled a sense of purpose in young minds. It demonstrated the potential of combining technology with critical global issues to inspire the next generation of innovators and problem solvers .
